First up was the Hollywood Walk of Fame. While I don't regret making this stop, it was completely overrated. We did get to see some of the stars of our favorite celebrities though.
I loved seeing random murals and artwork on the walls of old buildings all around town.
For lunch we made a stop at Little Tokyo. For lunch we ate lunch at a little sushi place - my first time eating sushi that wasn't purchased from the grocery store. I loved it! The lady that owned the shop was a cute, little Japanese lady that was LDS. We were able to chat with her for awhile which was so fun to talk to a local member of the church. After lunch we had some Japanese doughnuts. One of them had red beans inside, not my favorite, but still worth the try.
We had hoped to go shopping at the Fashion District, Olvera Street and the LA Temple, but being a first-time Los Angeles visitor I somehow wasn't aware that it takes 30 minutes to get from Point A to Point B anywhere in the city. So, instead we just drove around.
Last stop of the night was the whole reason we came to Los Angeles to begin with . . . The Newsies! I can't begin to tell you how much I loved watching the movie version ever since I was little so I was stoked to see it LIVE and on-stage. I love The Newsies and the show was great! The architecture of the Pantages Theatre was beautiful.
We didn't have a chance to have dinner before the show so afterwards we found the closest restaurant on the drive back to the hotel. Unfortunately it ended up being Tommy's. What we didn't know when we ordered was that our hamburgers would be drenched, and I mean literally drenched, in chili. Quite frankly, it was the worst burger I have ever tasted, but good news was it gave us a good, long laugh when we opened them. :)
Stops: Hollywood Walk of Fame, The Chinese Theatre, The Hollywood Sign, Little Tokyo, Drive around Los Angeles, The Newsies
Food: Ghirardelli, Sushi (can't remember the name), Cafe Dulce, Original Tommy's Hamburgers,
