A couple weeks back, my oldest sister Michelle and I went for a short weekend trip to Los Angeles for her spring break. I have been itching to go on a vacation for over a year and it was so great to finally head out on the road (and on an airplane).
After checking into our hotel and freshening up, we hit the road for Burbank to see the Ellen Show - that's right, THE Ellen Show, which mostly consisted of standing in a whole lot of lines and occasionally moving from one waiting area to another.
When we finally got onto the sound stage it was one big dance party. The stage looked so much smaller than it does on tv, but it was so cool to see the behind the scenes of the live show and not just the edited pieces. Kate Walsh and Rumer Willis were the celebrity guests on our episode neither of which I care for, but it was fun anyway. You can watch clips of our episode here (you can see us at 0:10 for 3 whole seconds!), here, here, and here.
"Well, I always imagined a little white house with a red door and, don’t laugh, but it had a picket fence, just like, you know, the houses that you see on TV that people live in . . . One day this will all be ours . . ."
The television show Chuck is literally my favorite television show (okay, so not quite literally, but it's one of them. I'm very indecisive with favorites, but it is still in my top 3). Being the sentimental soul that I am I knew I had to see the real life house that is Sarah's Dream House. Sarah and Chuck's relationship is the definition of my #relationshipgoals.
Last up on our first night was the Griffith Observatory. Even though I didn't get many photos this was one of my favorite stops on our trip. They had telescopes set up on the lawn and we got to take a good look at the moon through the telescope. I even got some insanely awesome shots with my own zoom lens. Ahhh, I love it! It was great to see all the city lights from atop the mountain, but the crowds were crazy . . . little did I know that the traffic to come the next couple of days would be even crazier!
